ABOUT ME

My name is Safiya Alavi and I am a third year Statistics and Data Science major at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Currently, I have been working towards my degree and honing my technical skills by studying and excelling in various Statistics and Data Science courses, as well as participating in the Data Science/Computer Science Capstone at UCSB and conducting independent research. In addition, I am president of a South Asian philanthropic organization called Dhadkan, which organizes large fundraisers for various charities each year. In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings of my school and getting outside whether it's going on walks or runs by the beach.
